Accessible free music downloads

I may have posted this topic before, if I did I can't find it on here. Anyway, I need to know if there are any websites that have free music downloads that work with Jaws.

I get the feeling that the first post may have been refering to free legal music download sites but i could be wrong. be careful with those torrents sites though as some of them have been known to use scripting to infect your machine.

i've never got those torrents to work for me, but then again they were never really explained to me properly.

well you use the torrent site to find torrents which are just pointers to the files you want to download , then once you have the torrents,you use a torrent manager like utorrent to download them.

As people have said above, torrents are probably your best bet. You need to harness your inner-geek a little, but if you don't mind getting your hands slightly dirty and have a good grasp of how to stay safe on the internet you'll be fine. I recommend UTorrent. It's very light, does exactly what you want it to do and is super accessible with JAWS (and I assume other screenreaders as well--it's too simple not to be.)

But unlike programs like LimeWire or BearShare, software is only half of what you need. Once you have a BitTorrent client, you need to find trackers that have the file(s) you're looking for. My favorite public tracker is Mininova.org.

Caution: While Bittorrent is completely legal software, downloading copyrighted files ain't. Whether or not you're willing to take that risk is obviously up to you.

Torrents are good, they work out quite well with screen readers. System Access, Jaws, ETC.

And you can always download your stuff from youtube as MP3 format. Just google, "Youtube to MP3 converter. you'll be good to go.
